The Anti-Ragging Committee at KMCT Law College is established as per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the directives of the Supreme Court of India to ensure a safe and ragging-free campus environment.
Objectives of the Committee:
1. Prevent Ragging: Ensure that no ragging incidents occur on or off-campus.
2. Awareness Programs: Conduct workshops and campaigns to inform students about the consequences of ragging.
3. Prompt Action: Address complaints of ragging with seriousness and urgency.
4. Monitor Activities: Keep an eye on sensitive areas in and around the campus to prevent incidents.
Functions of the Committee:
1. Handling Complaints: Investigate and take action on ragging complaints.
2. Counseling: Provide support to victims of ragging.
3. Disciplinary Action: Recommend punishments for those found guilty of ragging, ranging from fines to expulsion as per UGC regulations.
4. Coordination with Authorities: Work with law enforcement and other authorities when needed.
